Will Lillard and Harden get what they want?

James Harden and Damian Lillard both requested a trade this offseason with one thing in common: They both listed one team to be traded too,

James Harden to Clippers

Harden requested a trade out of Philly a couple of weeks ago, but we haven’t heard much sense. We know the 10-time All-Star wants to team up with Kawhi and PG in LA, but will Daryl Morey really honor his demand after the star requested a trade from him again??? Morey granted Harden’s request last time, trading him to the Nets from the Rockets, but will Harden have the same luck this time??

Damian Lillard to Heat

Very similarly to James Harden, Lillard requested a trade to one team and one team only: The Miami Heat. Dame has been very loyal to the Blazers, so it would only be right for them to honor his request. That doesn’t seem like the case as Blazers’ GM Joe Cronin says the team wants the best package in return and is willing to wait months. The Heat package for Lillard would include Tyler Herro, Nikola Jovic, and an assortment of picks and pick swaps. Would that be enough for Cronin to trade the disgruntled Top 75 player??

James Harden has gotten his way twice when it comes to trades, as he forced himself to the Nets and 76ers. If Morey doesn’t want to grant his request, that would be perfectly fine. When it comes to Dame, it would be petty and ignorant for the Blazers to not trade him to his preferred destination. The seven-time all-star has given the franchise so much, and they have failed to build around him. At the end of the day, NBA teams don’t care about that, the league is a business, and they will do whatever to give their franchise a clear direction….
